Ford House Museum

The Ford House is a museum on Main Street, just a block from the Kelley House Museum. You can find a variety of interesting tidbits about the history of Mendocino and even see a scale model exhibit of what Mendocino was like in 1890. 

This house is where the superintendent of the first Mendocino sawmill, Jerome B. Ford, lived in 1854. 

Wildlife lovers can also appreciate the museum as the house also serves as the Visitors Center for the Mendocino Headlands State Park.

The Temple of Kwan Tai

The Temple of Kwan Tai is also within walking distance and is a registered California Historic Landmark. This temple is a beautiful and fascinating piece of history that shows the history of Mendocino’s Chinese community. Make sure you call the temple ahead of time to schedule a tour.
